Overview

Where this process fits

This simplified line is built around heavy hammer crushing. It can reduce equipment quantity and civil-work complexity when the material is suitable, but it should not be used as a shortcut for hard-rock projects.

Process

Typical process flow

01. Feeding

Feed suitable soft or medium-hard brittle raw material into the heavy hammer crusher.

ZSW / GZT feeder

02. Single-stage crushing

Crush raw material directly to ordinary aggregate size where the material condition allows.

Equipment Scope

Standard and optional equipment by section

Process section Standard equipment Optional equipment
Feeding ZSW / GZD vibrating feeder. Use GZT grizzly feeder when feed blocks are larger or fine mud content is higher.
Main crushing PCZ single-stage heavy hammer crusher. Use PCF impact heavy hammer when particle shape is more important; evaluate 2PCZ only for very high capacity.
Screening Inclined vibrating screen. Use multi-deck screen for multiple finished sizes; avoid forcing wet muddy material through ordinary screens.
Return material Oversize return belt conveyor. Add transfer hopper or speed-adjustable conveyor by finished size requirement.
Conveying WLB belt conveyor. Arrange multiple stockpile belts or silos by finished product size.
Dust control / washing Spray dust suppression or enclosed transfer points. Add dust collector for strict dust control; add washing, dewatering and fine sand recovery for higher product cleanliness.

Package References

Reference packages by capacity range

The following configurations are for initial website communication. Formal proposals must confirm stone hardness, moisture and mud content, feed size, product use and whether return material is needed.

Low-cost small limestone line

Township aggregate plant, small cement raw-material project or backfill aggregate, with clean low-hardness limestone.

About 50-110 t/h

  • Feeding: ZSW / GZD vibrating feeder
  • Main machine: PCZ1008 heavy hammer crusher
  • Screening: 1230 inclined vibrating screen
  • Conveying: WLB belt conveyor
  • Feature: fewer machines, simpler civil work and lower investment
Medium ordinary aggregate line

Small and medium stone plant producing ordinary construction aggregate and cement raw material.

About 120-180 t/h

  • Feeding: ZSW490 or GZT grizzly feeder
  • Main machine: PCZ1310 / PCF1210 heavy hammer crusher
  • Screening: 1548 multi-deck vibrating screen
  • Return material: screen oversize returns to heavy hammer crusher
  • Optional: spray dust suppression or enclosed transfer
Large limestone single-stage line

Limestone quarry, cement raw-material crushing or high-capacity brittle low-abrasion material production.

About 220-350 t/h

  • Feeding: GZT heavy-duty feeder
  • Main machine: PCZ1512 / PCZ1615 heavy hammer crusher
  • Screening: 1860 / 2060 vibrating screen
  • Conveying: multiple WLB finished product belts
  • Boundary: if granite or basalt is mixed into the feed, switch to a jaw crusher + cone crusher solution.
Feed Materials

Suitable feed materials

  • Limestone, bluestone, dolomite, shale, gypsum, coal gangue and other low-hardness brittle materials.
  • Reference material boundary: compressive strength around <=200 MPa, subject to final material confirmation.
Mud Content

Mud-content assessment

  • Low-mud dry material: Clean brittle material such as limestone and bluestone is suitable for the simplified heavy hammer line, reducing front-end equipment and civil work.
  • Slight mud / moisture: Slightly muddy or moist material can be discussed, but blockage, chamber sticking and lower screening efficiency must be confirmed.
  • High-clay wet material: Clay lumps, sticky clay and high-moisture feed can block the crushing chamber or screening system, so they are not recommended for this simplified line directly.
Output Targets

Target products and operating goals

  • Use one heavy hammer crusher as the main crushing unit to simplify the process.
  • Reduce investment in suitable limestone or soft-stone projects by omitting jaw crusher in some layouts.
  • Produce ordinary aggregate, cement raw material or backfill aggregate where premium hard-rock particle shape is not the main target.
  • Control 0-40 mm, 0-60 mm or multiple ordinary aggregate sizes through screening and limited return material.
Washing

When washing is required

  • This line is a dry simplified crushing line by default and does not include a full washing and recovery system.
  • If limestone has high mud content or the finished product cleanliness target is higher, sand washing and dewatering can be added downstream.
  • If the target is cement raw material, backfill material or ordinary aggregate, the dry configuration is usually preferred.
  • For strict site dust requirements, spray suppression, enclosed transfer and dust collection should be discussed first.
Wet Process

Optional wet-processing section

  • When limestone is clean and the project only needs ordinary aggregate, washing is usually unnecessary.
  • If cleaner 0-5 mm finished sand is required, XS / LSX washing and WLTS dewatering can be added downstream.
  • High-mud or high-moisture feed should be evaluated with trommel screening, rotary scrubbing or washing instead of entering heavy hammer crushing directly.
Finished Sizes

Finished product size references

Ordinary aggregate
  • 0-40 mm
  • 0-60 mm
  • Multi-size building aggregate according to screen configuration
Cement raw material
  • General raw material size subject to downstream process requirement
Optional manufactured sand
  • If 0-5 mm finished sand is required, fine crushing, screening or washing should be reviewed by sand yield and particle shape.
Outputs

Main product outputs

  • 0-40 mm or 0-60 mm ordinary mixed aggregate.
  • 5-10 mm, 10-20 mm, 20-31.5 mm and other construction stone sizes according to screen configuration.
  • Cement raw material or backfill material, with size confirmed by downstream use.
  • 0-5 mm manufactured sand is only an optional direction, not the default focus of this line.
Selection Limits

Key selection limits

  • Best suited to low-hardness limestone and similar brittle material.
  • Not suitable for granite, basalt or other high-abrasion hard rock.
  • Not the preferred process for premium aggregate with strict particle-shape targets.
  • Moist material can be discussed, but actual blockage risk depends on clay and feed condition.
  • The simplified heavy hammer line is only economical when the material is suitable; low initial cost should not create high long-term wear cost.
  • If the customer clearly requires high-standard aggregate shape, switch to jaw crusher + cone crusher + precision screening.
  • When mud content is high or premium washed sand is required, washing, dewatering and fine sand recovery should be evaluated as downstream modules.
  • PCZ, PCF and 2PCZ should be displayed separately from PC ordinary hammer crusher and SHKX reversible fine crusher; their parameters are not interchangeable.

FAQ

Frequently asked project questions

When is a heavy hammer crushing line suitable?

It is suitable for limestone, bluestone and other medium-low hardness brittle materials when the buyer wants a simplified line. The core equipment is the PCZ / PCF heavy hammer crusher with screening and conveying.

Can heavy hammer crushing replace jaw crusher plus cone crusher?

Only for suitable material and product targets. For granite, basalt, diabase or other abrasive hard rock, use WLC jaw crusher plus hydraulic cone crusher instead of forcing a heavy hammer route.

What should be confirmed before quoting a heavy hammer line?

Confirm stone type, hardness, moisture, clay content, maximum feed size, required discharge size, target capacity and whether vibrating screening or washing is needed after crushing.
