Application & process role
XS wheel washers and LSX / 2LSX spiral washers both clean sand, but they serve different washing duties.
Use an XS wheel washer when the feed is relatively clean and the project needs a compact, low-maintenance washing section. Use an LSX or 2LSX spiral washer when weathered sand, mountain sand or recycled aggregate needs stronger agitation and a longer washing path. If overflow carries saleable fine sand or wastewater must be recycled, match the washer with WS recovery, WLTS dewatering and HHT filtration equipment.

Choose when
- Raw material is clean river sand or manufactured sand with mud content below about 10%.
- The line mainly processes fine sand and needs to reduce fine-sand loss.
- Small batching plants or simple sand yards have limited budget and water-saving needs.
- Only surface dust needs to be washed, with no large clay-wrapped stones.
- The site is small and installation needs to stay simple.
Not suitable when
- High-clay material or clay lumps cannot be cleaned well because the machine has no strong scrubbing action.
- Coarse stone above about 50 mm is not suitable for this machine.

Limits
Operating limits
- Not used for dry screening or dry aggregate grading.
- Large stone washing should use a rotary scrubber or stone washer first.
- Very high-clay material may need rotary scrubbing before wheel or spiral washing.
