Overview
Application & process role
WLC is the primary crusher in aggregate, manufactured sand, mining and recycling workflows. Its job is to reduce oversized raw stone into a controlled feed for the next process.
Select it by maximum feed size, material hardness, target capacity and the downstream route: cone crushing for hard rock, hammer or roller crushing for suitable medium-soft material, then screening, washing or conveying as the line requires.

Selection Boundary
Jaw Crusher Selection Boundary
Primary crushing equipment for the first crushing stage of an aggregate or manufactured-sand line.
Jaw crusher
First-stage coarse crushing; the machine used when large raw stone must be reduced before fine crushing, screening or washing.
Choose when
- Raw stone feed size is large, usually around 200-1200 mm, and must be reduced to medium material before downstream crushing.
- Material is very hard, such as granite, basalt, river pebble, quartzite or iron ore.
- The line needs a stable primary crusher before sand making, aggregate production or washing.
- The site is fixed and requires long-term stable production with a durable machine body.
- Large construction waste, run-of-mine stone, mountain rock or tunnel waste needs preprocessing.
Not suitable when
- The process only needs medium or fine crushing, sand making or small-stone crushing.
- All feed material is below about 50 mm; using a jaw crusher wastes capacity and increases wear.
- Soft, sticky weathered soil or clay-rich material can paste on the jaw plates; pretreatment may be needed.
- The finished product must be rounded with very low flaky content; secondary shaping is still required.
Line flow: Raw material stockpile -> Jaw crusher -> WLB belt conveyor -> heavy hammer crusher / cone crusher / roller fine crusher
Advantages
Core advantages
- Wear-resistant manganese jaw plates for hard stone applications
- Deep V crushing chamber supports larger feeding and smoother material flow
- Adjustable discharge opening supports aggregate size control
- Integrated base and damping design can support stable operation
- Bearing protection and dust prevention are confirmed according to the selected configuration
Limits
Operating limits
- Not used for fine sand making or final product shaping.
- Not efficient when all feed material is already small and only fine crushing is required.
- Sticky clay should not enter directly without pretreatment.
- Not used as a secondary fine crusher; it is a primary crushing machine.
Model / Size Data

Tables show common size ranges. Final configuration is checked by material hardness, mud and moisture, capacity, product size, upstream / downstream equipment and site layout.
Metric data is provided to compare model sizes at the early selection stage. Capacity varies with material hardness, feed grading, moisture, closed/open circuit arrangement and discharge setting. Imperial conversion can be added for overseas communication when required.

Common Data
Common WLC notes
These notes apply to the WLC jaw crusher series and should be confirmed again before final quotation.
- Application: primary coarse crushing and first-stage crushing in aggregate and manufactured sand lines.
- Material reference: hard rock and ore with compressive strength up to 320 MPa, subject to final material confirmation.
- Wear parts: WLC dedicated manganese steel fixed jaw plate and movable jaw plate are matched across the series.
- Discharge setting and capacity should be confirmed together because capacity changes with the set outlet size.

FAQ
Frequently asked selection questions
How do I choose a jaw crusher for aggregate plant primary crushing?
Start from maximum raw stone size, target hourly capacity, material hardness and the downstream process. The jaw crusher must feed the cone crusher, hammer crusher, screen or washing section at a stable size.
Can WLC jaw crusher be used as a sand making machine?
No. WLC is a primary coarse crusher. Fine sand making or shaping should be handled by cone crushing, roller crushing, fine crusher or other downstream equipment after primary crushing.
What information is required before selecting a WLC model?
Provide raw stone photos, maximum feed size, target capacity, material type and hardness, required discharge size, site voltage and whether the line is fixed or mobile.
