Overview

Application & process role

SHY is the compact option when washing, fine sand recovery and dewatering need to sit in one wet-process machine.

It is usually discussed for manufactured sand, river sand, weathered sand and tailings sand projects where the buyer wants fewer transfer points, lower fine-sand loss and a smaller footprint. For larger plants or layouts that need independent access to each process section, separate washer, recovery and dewatering units may be the better configuration.

Series Boundary

How buyers should choose this equipment type

Three-in-one sand washing machine

Combines wheel-bucket washing, hydrocyclone fine sand recovery and high-frequency dewatering in one machine for compact washing lines.

Separated washing + recovery + dewatering line

Use separate wheel washer, fine sand recovery machine and dewatering screen when capacity, layout or maintenance access is better served by independent units.

Selection Boundary

SHY Three-in-one Washing Machine Selection Boundary

Integrated washing, fine sand recovery and dewatering equipment for wet sand lines with slurry and fine-sand loss.

SHY washing, recovery and dewatering machine

One-machine layout combining wheel washing, hydrocyclone fine sand recovery and dewatering screen.

Choose when

  • The washing process produces slurry and loses 0.075-0.5 mm fine sand that needs recovery.
  • Finished sand should be dewatered to a low moisture range for loading or stockpiling.
  • The front process includes a drum stone washer or wheel sand washer and produces fine-sand slurry.
  • Environmental control requires slurry circulation and reduced fine-sand waste.
  • Medium or large standardized wet sand lines need to replace separated washer, recovery machine and dewatering screen units.

Not suitable when

  • The raw material is dry and there is no washing process, slurry or fine-sand loss.
  • The line only washes coarse stone with almost no fine sand, so fine sand recovery has little value.
Advantages

Core advantages

  • Combines washing, fine sand recovery and dewatering in one compact equipment set
  • Helps recover 0.075-0.5 mm fine sand from overflow slurry under suitable working conditions
  • Reduces fine-sand loss and helps increase usable finished sand output
  • Uses a smaller footprint and fewer transfer points than separate washing, recovery and dewatering units
  • Fits water-recycling layouts and helps reduce wastewater handling pressure in wet sand lines
  • Screen panels, bucket parts, pump parts and cyclone-related spares can be matched by drawing or photo
Limits

Operating limits

  • Not required for dry production lines without washing water or fine-sand loss.
  • Not suitable for pure large-stone washing when fine sand recovery is not valuable.
  • High-clay lump material may still need rotary scrubbing or spiral washing before the integrated unit.
System Flow

How the process works

Feed into washing trough

Sand enters the washing tank, where the wheel bucket agitates the material and removes surface soil, dust and impurities.

Slurry overflow

Fine-sand-bearing muddy water flows to the slurry pond or circulation sump.

Cyclone recovery

A slurry pump sends wastewater to the hydrocyclone, where fine sand is classified and concentrated.

Fine sand return

Cyclone underflow drops to the rear section of the dewatering screen.

Coarse sand discharge

The wheel bucket lifts washed sand to the front section of the dewatering screen.

Dewatering and discharge

The high-frequency screen dewaters the combined sand and returns screen water to the recycling system.

Structure

Main machine units

Wheel-bucket washing trough

Large washing tank with wear-resistant bucket or impeller parts for the main sand-washing duty.

Hydrocyclone group

Classifies slurry and recovers fine sand or stone powder from washing overflow.

High-frequency dewatering screen

Receives washed sand and recovered fine sand, then dewaters the combined finished product.

Water and slurry circulation pipeline

Connects washing water, slurry transfer, overflow water and the recycling pond layout.

Integrated drive and frame

Motor, reducer and frame are arranged on one base to reduce separate foundation work.

FAQ

Frequently asked selection questions

Is SHY a complete sand washing plant?

SHY is the compact wet-process core that combines washing, fine sand recovery and dewatering. A complete sand washing plant may still need feeding, crushing, screening, conveyors, ponds and filter-press wastewater treatment depending on the project.

When is SHY better than separate sand washer, recovery machine and dewatering screen units?

SHY is useful when the site is compact, the buyer wants fewer transfer points or the capacity range fits an integrated unit. Separate machines may be better for larger layouts, easier maintenance access or a more flexible process balance.

What should be confirmed before choosing SHY1230, SHY1530, SHY1840 or SHY2040?

Confirm feed grading, mud content, target hourly capacity, fine sand recovery target, water-recycling pond layout, required finished sand moisture and available installation space.

Note

Name distinction

This SHY sand washing machine is unrelated to SHY filtering, washing and drying three-in-one machines used in pharmaceutical or chemical powder processing. The sand-washing SHY machine uses a wheel bucket, hydrocyclone and dewatering screen for wet sand and aggregate processing.
