Overview
Application & process role
WS is selected when a washing line is losing saleable fine sand into overflow water, or when settling ponds are carrying too much recoverable material.
The slurry pump sends sand-bearing wastewater to the hydrocyclone. Concentrated underflow goes to the dewatering screen, while overflow water continues to ponds or filter-press treatment. Unlike a raw-material screen, WS is sized by slurry flow, particle grading, recovery target and the downstream water-treatment plan.

The complete WS recovery machine is shown as one equipment product. Hydrocyclone, slurry pump and dewatering screen are shown as support units or service parts, with cross-links from this complete machine page.
Display Logic
Website structure
Separated from dewatering screen, WLGSX trommel screen and filter press. A dewatering screen removes water from sand; a WLGSX trommel pre-screens raw muddy feed; the WS unit recovers fine sand from washing slurry through cyclone concentration and dewatering.

How buyers should choose this equipment type
Fine sand recovery system
Selected when washing overflow still carries recoverable fine sand and the plant needs to reduce sand loss.
Environmental washing-line support
Installed before settling ponds or HHT filter press systems to reduce solids load and make water recycling easier to manage.
Complete integrated machine
Combines tank, slurry pump, hydrocyclone, dewatering screen and pipeline connections in one compact unit.
Advantages
Core advantages
- Recovers fine sand above 0.075 mm under suitable working conditions, reducing fine-sand loss to settling ponds
- Polyurethane-lined cyclone and polyurethane dewatering screen mesh improve wear resistance and help reduce clogging
- Integrated tank, slurry pump, hydrocyclone and linear dewatering screen layout reduces scattered on-site assembly
- Helps keep recovered sand moisture within the target range when the process is correctly configured
- Reduces sedimentation pond silt load, pond-cleaning pressure and downstream filter press load
- Modular screen mesh, cyclone liner and slurry pump wear parts are easier to replace
Limits
Operating limits
- Not used in dry crushing lines without washing slurry.
- Not used for large stone processing or primary material crushing.
- Wastewater with plastic, wood, grass or large debris needs a front-end screen or grid.
System Flow
How the process works
Sand washing wastewater
Fine-sand-bearing overflow from the wheel washer, spiral washer or washing line enters the recovery tank.
Slurry pump
The pump sends sand-bearing wastewater to the hydrocyclone for classification.
Hydrocyclone
The cyclone concentrates recoverable fine sand and sends underflow to the dewatering screen.
Dewatering screen
The screen dewaters cyclone underflow and discharges recovered sand for handling or sale.
Overflow water
Overflow water returns to circulation or moves to downstream wastewater treatment based on the site design.

Tables show common size ranges. Final configuration is checked by material hardness, mud and moisture, capacity, product size, upstream / downstream equipment and site layout.
The model table supports standard washing-line selection. Recovery rate and final moisture depend on slurry concentration, particle grading, water flow and screen condition.

Common Data
Equipment boundary notes
These notes separate the WS recovery machine from nearby washing and screening products.
- Dewatering screen: removes water from sand but does not concentrate slurry or recover fine sand by cyclone.
- WLGSX trommel screen: pre-screens raw muddy feed; it does not recover washing wastewater.
- WS fine sand recovery machine: concentrates washing slurry with hydrocyclones, recovers fine sand and reduces the load on the water-treatment section.

Where is WS installed in a sand washing plant?
WS is normally installed after the wheel washer, spiral washer or integrated washing section, and before the settling pond or HHT filter press system.
What information is needed to size a WS recovery machine?
Provide front-end washer capacity, slurry flow, fine sand content, target recovered dry sand output, pond layout and whether a filter press is configured downstream.
