Washing & Recovery

Chain Bucket Elevator for Wet Sand Washing Line

Inclined chain bucket lifting equipment for wet sand, washed aggregate and washing-line material transfer.

Series and models XSJ600, XSJ800, XSJ1000 and XSJ1200 are common standard specifications. Selection is refined by wet material capacity, lifting height, moisture and connected equipment.

Tables show common size ranges. Final configuration is checked by material hardness, mud and moisture, capacity, product size, upstream / downstream equipment and site layout.

01

Best-fit Feed Materials

Main wet materials
  • Wet sand
  • Washed aggregate
  • Muddy sand and stone
  • Tailings wet sand
Compatible dry materials
  • Dry river sand
  • Crushed stone
  • Stone powder
  • Tailings
02

Operating Limits

  • Open structure creates more dust when conveying dry powder, so enclosed NE / TH bucket elevators are better for fine dry powder.
  • Not a precision screening or washing machine by itself; it is a lifting and transfer unit in the washing line.
  • Final lifting angle, height and foundation layout must be confirmed with the complete line arrangement.

Overview

Application & process role

The XSJ chain bucket elevator is an inclined wet-material lifting unit for sand washing lines. It is especially suitable after WLGSX trommel screening and before SHY washing, dewatering and fine sand recovery equipment.

For dry material transfer, XSJ can be used for coarse bulk material, but enclosed vertical bucket elevators are more suitable where dust control and fine dry powder lifting are the priority.

Principle

Operating principle

The drive sprocket pulls the double chain and buckets along the inclined frame. Wet sand or washed aggregate enters the lower trough, is lifted by perforated buckets, drains water during lifting and discharges at the upper chute. Overflow water returns through the trough or return channel according to site layout.

Display Logic

Website structure

Shown as a washing-line inclined chain bucket elevator. It should be separated from NE / TH vertical bucket elevators because XSJ is open, inclined and designed for wet sand drainage, while NE / TH elevators are enclosed dry-material lifting machines.

Series Boundary

How buyers should choose this equipment type

Wet sand lifting

Recommended for wet sand, slurry-like sand, muddy aggregate, washed sand and tailings sand. Perforated buckets and overflow return structure help drain water and reduce fine-sand loss.

Dry bulk transfer

Can convey dry river sand, crushed stone, stone powder, tailings and limestone for coarse transfer, but it is not the first choice for enclosed fine powder conveying.

XSJ vs NE / TH bucket elevator

XSJ is inclined and open with drainage structure for washing lines. NE / TH elevators are vertical and enclosed for dry material, without drainage and not suitable for long-term mud slurry operation.

Advantages

Core advantages

  • Designed for washing-line wet sand lifting, draining water while lifting material.
  • Perforated buckets reduce water carryover and help connect WLGSX trommel screen with SHY washing equipment.
  • Thickened chain and buckets can be matched for muddy, abrasive and wet aggregate conditions.
  • Waterproof labyrinth sealing helps protect bearings in mud and water environments.
  • Compatible with dry coarse bulk materials when dust control is not the key requirement.
  • Open inclined layout is easier to inspect and maintain in sand washing yards.
Limits

Operating limits

  • Open structure creates more dust when conveying dry powder, so enclosed NE / TH bucket elevators are better for fine dry powder.
  • Not a precision screening or washing machine by itself; it is a lifting and transfer unit in the washing line.
  • Final lifting angle, height and foundation layout must be confirmed with the complete line arrangement.
Maintenance

Daily maintenance points

  • Check chain tension, bucket bolts and chain joint wear regularly.
  • Inspect sprocket teeth, pins and sleeves; replace worn transmission parts in time.
  • Keep waterproof bearing seals and grease points in good condition for mud-water operation.
  • Check bottom trough liners and bucket liners for wear from wet sand and stone.
  • Clean accumulated mud in the feed trough and overflow return area when needed.
System Flow

How the process works

PSJ double roller crusher

Material is finely crushed or particle size is adjusted before washing-line pretreatment.

WLGSX trommel screen

Wet material is pre-screened and muddy lumps or large stones are separated.

XSJ chain bucket elevator

Wet sand is lifted while water drains through bucket holes and returns through the trough.

SHY washing, dewatering and recovery machine

Sand washing, fine sand recovery and dewatering are completed.

WLB belt conveyor

Finished material is transferred to the stockpile.

Structure

Main machine units

Drive assembly

Motor, hard-tooth reducer, drive base and backstop to prevent reverse material flow.

Head assembly

Drive sprocket, head shaft, waterproof bearing housing and discharge chute.

Tail tension assembly

Tail sprocket, tail shaft, screw-spring tensioning mechanism and lower feed trough.

Traction and carrying parts

Double chain, bucket, bucket connection bolts and pins. Chain and buckets can be thickened for wet abrasive sand.

Frame and trough

Sectional channel-steel frame, side guards, bottom wear liner and overflow water return channel.

Support and service parts

Support rollers, wear-resistant rail strips, inspection platform and guardrail according to site layout.

Material

Material check

XSJ is mainly positioned for wet sand and washing-line material with about 10%-28% moisture. It can also handle dry sand, crushed stone, stone powder, tailings and limestone, but open dry operation creates more dust than enclosed vertical bucket elevators.
