Overview
Application & process role
GPY series single-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher is medium and fine crushing equipment after jaw crusher. It adopts an integrated bottom single hydraulic cylinder to support automatic discharge adjustment, iron-overload protection and cavity clearing.
With interchangeable coarse, medium and fine crushing liners, the GPY series is used for aggregate plants, metal mines, construction-waste recycling and quartz sand making when the material and process are suitable.

Series Boundary
How buyers should choose this equipment type
Secondary medium crushing
Coarse chamber S or medium chamber M can be selected after jaw crusher when the target is secondary crushing of hard rock aggregate.
Fine crushing and shaping
Fine chamber F is selected for finer aggregate shaping, quartz sand making, recycled aggregate and tailings processing.
Material boundary
Suitable for hard rock up to 350 MPa compressive strength. Not suitable for high-sticky clay or soft mud.
Selection Boundary
Cone Crusher Selection Boundary
Hard-rock secondary and fine crushing equipment for premium aggregate and high-capacity standard lines.
Cone crusher
Used after primary jaw crushing for hard-rock secondary, tertiary or fine crushing.
Choose when
- Raw material is high-hardness and abrasive stone, such as granite, river pebble, basalt or diabase.
- The line produces high-standard aggregate for highway, bridge or concrete applications after jaw primary crushing.
- Large standardized aggregate lines need continuous operation and stable output.
- The finished aggregate requires more cubical shape and lower flaky content.
- Iron ore or metal ore needs second-stage crushing in a mineral process.
- Raw material is relatively clean and dry, without heavy clay.
Not suitable when
- Soft limestone or weathered stone may not justify the investment in cone crushing.
- High-mud or wet sticky material can damage internal eccentric and sealing structures.
- Small simple sand plants with low daily output may find the equipment cost too high.
- Cone crushers cannot act as the only primary crusher for oversized raw stone; jaw crushing is needed first.
Advantages
Core advantages
- Integrated bottom single hydraulic cylinder supports discharge adjustment, iron-overload protection and cavity clearing
- Coarse, medium and fine liner chambers support secondary and fine crushing duties
- Compact structure and simpler maintenance direction compared with complex multi-cylinder configurations
- Hydraulic clearing helps reduce downtime caused by blockage
- Produces cubic aggregate with even gradation when matched with suitable chamber and closed-circuit screening
Limits
Operating limits
- Not the best choice for very large 500 t/h plus hard-rock mines.
- Not preferred for ultra-hard rock under continuous full-load 24-hour duty.
- Premium aggregate projects with very strict shape requirements may need multi-cylinder cone crushing.
Model / Size Data
GPY single-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher model reference
Tables show common size ranges. Final configuration is checked by material hardness, mud and moisture, capacity, product size, upstream / downstream equipment and site layout.
Capacity data is based on choke-feed closed-circuit reference conditions. Open-circuit crushing capacity may be about 20% lower, and harder material generally reduces capacity. Final selection should be confirmed with feed grading, liner chamber and discharge setting.
